The Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G (SEL814G) is Sony's first fisheye zoom lens for full-frame E-mount cameras, and it packs a genuinely rare trick: a single lens that swings from a 180° circular fisheye at 8mm to a full-frame diagonal fisheye at 14mm. That means photographers and filmmakers can dial in the exact fisheye look they want — dramatic circular distortion or edge-to-edge diagonal coverage — without swapping glass.
Built for landscapes, architecture, sports, and video production, the lens pairs a compact, lightweight body with G Lens resolution, fast and precise autofocus, and refined operability for stills and movies. Controls include a focus mode switch, zoom lock switch, and an aperture ring with switchable click stops.
At approximately 314g and measuring F63.1mm × 82.8mm, the SEL814G is well suited to handheld shooting, gimbals, and dual-camera VR rigs where size and balance matter — independent focus, zoom, and iris rings plus internal zooming keep it balanced across the entire range. It's also dust- and moisture-resistant, with a fluorine coating on the front element for outdoor durability.
For spatial and VR content creators, pairing two SEL814G lenses with Sony's VENICE Extension System Mini at roughly typical interpupillary spacing lets filmmakers capture natural, stereoscopic spatial depth for VR production.
